Applying Transitions and Animations in PowerPoint
1. Applying Slide Transitions (Between Slides)
Transitions control how one slide moves to the next during a presentation.
Steps to Add a Transition :
- Select the slide where you want to add a transition.
- Go to the Transitions tab.
- Choose a transition effect (e.g., Fade, Push, Wipe, Morph).
- Customize it using:
- Effect Options (e.g., direction, style).
- Duration (adjust speed of transition).
- Apply to All (to apply the same transition to all slides).
- Click Preview to see how it looks.
2. Applying Animations (Within a Slide)
Animations control how text, images, or objects appear, move, or disappear on a slide.
Steps to Add an Animation :
- Select the object (text, image, shape, etc.) you want to animate.
- Go to the Animations tab.
- Choose an animation effect:
- Entrance (e.g., Fade, Fly In, Zoom – makes objects appear).
- Emphasis (e.g., Pulse, Spin, Grow/Shrink – highlights objects).
- Exit (e.g., Disappear, Fly Out – removes objects).
- Motion Paths (custom movement along a path).
- Click Effect Options to adjust settings like direction or sequence.
- Use the Animation Pane (found in the "Advanced Animation" group) to manage multiple animations.
- Set Start Options:
- On Click – Starts when you click.
- With Previous – Starts with the previous animation.
- After Previous – Starts after the previous animation finishes.
- Adjust the Duration and Delay if needed.
3. Previewing and Managing Animations
- Click Preview in the Animations tab to see how effects look.
- Use the Animation Pane (on the right) to rearrange or modify effects.
