Hyperlinks in PowerPoint allow you to connect text, images, shapes, or buttons to websites, other slides, files, or emails. Here’s how you can do it:
1. Hyperlink to a Website
- Select the text, image, or object you want to hyperlink.
- Go to the Insert tab > Click Link (or press Ctrl + K).
- In the Insert Hyperlink window, select Existing File or Web Page.
- Type or paste the website URL in the Address field.
- Click OK.
Tip : To test the hyperlink, run the slideshow (F5) and click the link.
2. Hyperlink to Another Slide in the Same Presentation
- Select the text or object to hyperlink.
- Go to Insert > Link > Choose Place in This Document.
- Select the slide you want to link to.
- Click OK.
* Use this to create interactive presentations with a menu or table of contents!
3. Hyperlink to Another PowerPoint File or Document
- Click on the text or object.
- Go to Insert > Link > Existing File or Web Page.
- Browse and select the PowerPoint or document file.
- Click OK.
* Make sure the linked file stays in the same location; otherwise, the link might break!
4. Hyperlink to an Email Address
- Select the text or object.
- Go to Insert > Link > Email Address.
- Type the email address (e.g., example@email.com).
- (Optional) Add a subject line.
- Click OK.
* When clicked, this will open the default email app with the email pre-filled.
5. Hyperlink to a Custom Action (Button Click)
- Insert a shape or button (Insert > Shapes).
- Right-click the shape > Select Link.
- Choose where the button should go (Next Slide, Previous Slide, Specific Slide, URL, etc.).
- Click OK.
