How to Insert a Hyperlink in a Word Document
You can insert a hyperlink in Microsoft Word to link to a website, email, or another document.
1. Using the "Insert" Tab
- Select the text or image you want to turn into a hyperlink.
- Go to the "Insert" tab in the ribbon.
- Click "Link" (or "Hyperlink" in older versions).
- In the "Insert Hyperlink" window:
- To link to a webpage, enter the URL in the Address box (e.g.,
https://www.example.com
).
- To link to another document, click "Existing File or Web Page" and browse for the file.
- To link to an email, click "Email Address", then enter the recipient’s email (
example@email.com
).
- Click OK to insert the hyperlink.
2. Using Keyboard Shortcut
- Select the text/image and press
Ctrl + K
(Windows) or Cmd + K
(Mac).
- Follow the same steps as above to enter the link and click OK.
3. Editing or Removing a Hyperlink
- Right-click the hyperlink and choose "Edit Hyperlink" to modify it.
- Select "Remove Hyperlink" to delete the link.
