After a prolonged battle with COVID, legendary Bengali singer "Sandhya Mukherjee", who had refused to accept the Padma award last month, died on Tuesday(15th Feb 2022) evening following a massive "cardiac arrest". She was hospitalized on January 27 and was recovering after prolonged illness.
“Sandhya Gupta (Mukherjee) suffered a sudden "cardiac arrest" at around 7:30 pm because of an irregular heart beat and could not be revived. The hospital deeply mourns the passing away of the legendary singer,” a medical bulletin issued by the private hospital in Kolkata where Mukherjee breathed her last, said.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, condoled the death of Sandhya Mukherjee, and said that “the death of the veteran singer is “irreparable loss” to the world..
