India’s first green hydrogen refueling station has been opened in Leh, Ladakh, by Amara Raja Infra.

The company, part of the $2 billion Amara Raja Group, developed this location to pave the way for emission-free transportation in the region. The company will be responsible for operational and maintenance operations for the site’s three years.

“The completion of this challenging project has reaffirmed our EPC expertise, and we are very excited to be the first player to enter the green hydrogen infrastructure space,” stated Dwarakanadha Reddy, Business Head at Amara Raja Infra, according to MyIndMakers.

This latest addition to India’s mobility landscape represents a key step forward for the country’s sustainable journey.

This project is part of the National Hydrogen Energy Mission, an initiative to support green hydrogen mobility across the country. This location is expected to provide key insights to establish similar locations throughout the country stations..
