Vikram Doraiswami, presently Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom (UK), the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Tuesday(23rd Aug 2022).

“Shri Vikram K. Doraiswami (IFS: 1992), presently High Commissioner of India to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom,” the MEA said in a statement.

Doraiswami is expected to take up the assignment shortly, the statement added. Doraiswami joined the "Indian Foreign Service" in 1992. Before that, he did journalism for a year.

According to MEA, he received his master’s degree in history from Delhi University..
