The State Bank of India (SBI) on Tuesday(21-12-2021) has acquired a minority stake in JSW Cement Limited, with an investment of Rs 100 crore in the company via Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares (CCPS).
 
“We have increased our capacity from 6MTPA to 14MTPA and are now working towards achieving the 25MTPA milestone over the next 24 months… I welcome SBI as a strategic investor at JSW Cement and look forward to a long & fruitful association with them,” said Parth Jindal, Managing Director of JSW Cement.
 
The conversion of such CCPS into common equity of the company will be linked to the company’s future business performance and valuation determined at the time of the proposed initial public offering, he added.

Odisha Chief Minister "Naveen Patnaik" inaugurated Odisha’s longest bridge "T-Setu" over Mahanadi River on Monday(20-12-2021). The bridge will greatly benefit the people of Cuttack and Khurda districts, connecting Gopinathpur in Baramba with Baidweswar in Banki.
 
Steel & Mines Minister Prafulla Mallik and Badamba MLA Debi Prasad Mishra were also present during the inauguration ceremony.
 
After the inauguration of the bridge, the Chief Minister asked the people present during the ceremony “Aapana maane khusi ta?” (Are you happy?), which is a much popular slogan among the masses of Odisha, to which the people responded with much joy.
 
The CM had laid its foundation stone in February 2014. The 3.4 km long bridge has been built at a cost of Rs 111 crore.

Chief Minister "Arvind Kejriwal-led" Delhi Cabinet has approved a proposal to establish the 'Delhi Teachers University' on December 21, 2021.
 
After the cabinet meeting, Kejriwal said in a press conference, ''This University will prepare highly qualified and well-trained teachers in Delhi itself. As per the commitment of the Delhi Government, 'Delhi Teachers University' Bill 2021 will be placed before the Delhi Vidhan Sabha in the coming session.''
 
"Delhi Teachers University will be a public university dedicated to preparing excellent quality Teachers for the city across different school stages. This University will offer among others, 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programmes like BA-BEd, BSc-Bed, to help develop a new generation of teachers," he said.
 
Kejriwal added that the students of this University will be attached with Delhi Government schools for the entire duration of their course to get hands-on experience with a strong emphasis on action research...
