Ranveer Singh has won the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022 best actor award for his movie 83.

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is underway currently. The event, held annually in Australia, celebrates the India film industry by screening some of the most prominent and acclaimed films, TV shows, and web series from the country. One of the highlights of the festival is the awards night, where select awards are given to the best performers from Indian cinema and OTT scene from the previous year. This year’s awards night recognised some of the biggest names from the field in a glittering ceremony held in Melbourne on Sunday(14th Aug 2022). 
 
The 13th edition of the IFFM began on Friday, 12th August 2022 and will conclude on 30th August 2022. The in-person event ends on 20th August 2022, beyond which the festival continues virtually for another ten days. On Sunday, 14th August 2022, the festival’s awards night was held at the Palais Theatre. 
 
Hosted by Rithvik Dhanjiani, the event saw big wins for Kabir Khan’s sports drama 83 and its star Ranveer Singh, as well as the Prime Video web series Mumbai Diaries 26 and the film Jalsa. The two films that had the most nominations--Jai Bhim and Gangubai Kathiawadi--failed to win a single award.

Renowned Bangladeshi architect, researcher and educator "Marina Tabassum" became the first person from the global south and first south Asian to win the prestigious Lisbon Triennale Millennium bcp Lifetime Achievement Award. 
 
Announcing the award, the Lisbon Architecture Triennale jury praised Marina Tabassum for presenting an inspiring example of work with local communities that can have a positive impact across the globe even under the most adverse conditions. 
 
The International Jury for the award said that Marina Tabssum’s unique practice touches on the spiritual fundamentals of architecture. Driven by specific cultural and geographical context, her works address pressing contemporary issues, said the jury in their citation for the award. Her work shows how architects can challenge the climate crisis and bring about social change in an experimental, respectful and inspiring manner. 
 
She will receive an original artwork by the Portuguese artist and sculptor Carlos Nogueira as award during the Lisbon Triennale which begins on 29 September in Lisbon, Portugal..

With senior Congress leader "Shashi Tharoor" set to be conferred with France's highest civilian award Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur, a host of party leaders congratulated him on the prestigious honour. The French government is honouring him for his writings and speeches and French Ambassador here Emmanuel Lenain has written to Tharoor informing him about the award.
