Arjun Munda takes helm of Agriculture Ministry as President accepts resignation of Narendra Tomar

In a significant cabinet reshuffle, President Draupadi Murmu has accepted the resignations of Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel, and Renuka Singh Saruta from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect.

Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Arjun Munda, has been appointed as the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in the Central Government, succeeding Narendra Singh Tomar.

The President also appointed Dr. Bharati Praveen Pawar as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Meanwhile, Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State, has been given an additional charge as Minister of State in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.


Rajeev Chandrashekhar, another Minister of State, now holds an additional charge as Minister of State in the Ministry of Jal Shakti. Bharti Praveen Pawar, Minister of State, has been assigned an additional charge in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

In a move aimed at ensuring a smooth transition, President Draupadi Murmu handed over the additional charge of the Agriculture Ministry to Union Minister Arjun Munda. The reshuffle comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline ministerial responsibilities and enhance efficiency in governance..
