Ace Indian shuttler and Olympic medalist "PV Sindhu" clinched the Singapore Open 2022 title after defeating China's Wang Zhi Yi in the final of the women's singles category on Sunday(17th July 2022). Playing on court 1, Sindhu won the summit clash by 21-9, 11-21, 21-15. She was off to a great start, winning the first game by a thumping margin. Zhi Yi made a comeback in a similar fashion in the next game, winning it by 11-21. In the decider game, the top Indian shuttler maintained her composure to win it 21-15 and win the title.
 
PV Sindhu advanced to the summit clash of the women's singles category of the Singapore Open 2022 by defeating Japan's Saena Kawakami in the semifinals here in Singapore on Saturday(17th July 2022).
 
Sindhu was at her most dominant in the game, as she warded off the Japanese challenge within two straight games 15-21, 7-21. The match lasted for 58 minutes. This is Sindhu's third title of 2022 and her maiden Super 500 title this year..

Bangladesh pacer Shohidul Islam has been suspended for 10 months after pleading guilty to breaching Article 2.1 of the ICC Anti-Doping Code
 
The 27-year-old pacer has represented Bangladesh in one T20I. After admitting the offence, Shohidul has been suspended from all forms of cricket for 10 months.
 
The 10-month suspension has been backdated to May 28, the day he admitted to the offence, meaning the Bangladesh pacer will be eligible to play on 28 March 2023.

In the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Shooting World Cup 2022, India topped the medal tally at Changwon in South Korea. India finished the tournament with eight medals including three golds, four silvers and one bronze and was way ahead of hosts Korea and Serbia in the medal tally. 

The day began on a brilliant note for India when the troika of Arjun Babuta, Shahu Tushar Mane and Paarth Makhija helped the country bag its third gold medal beating Korea 17-15 in the 10-metre air rifle team event.
 
Earlier, Arjun Babuta had won the gold medal in the men’s air rifle category, while the duo of Mehuli Ghosh and Shahu Tushar Mane bagged gold in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team category 13th July 2022. Arjun, Makhija and Mane fought neck to neck and staged a comeback, leading through the final to claim the top prize ahead of the Korean team of Seungho Bang, Sangdo Kim and Hajun Park.
 
The second medal of the day came in the form of silver when the trio of Elavenil Valaviran, Mehuli Ghosh and Ramita settled for silver after going down to the home team of Jihyeon Keum, Eunseo Lee and Dayeong Gwon 10-16. In the men's 10m air Pistol team event final, the Indian team put up a spirited fight against the experienced Italian trio of Paolo Monna, Alessio Torracchi and Luca Tesconi before going down 15-17, ensuring another silver for the country..
