Google reinstates employees fired for complaining about AI
Google has given their jobs back to workers who were fired for speaking out about poor working conditions on products including artificial intelligence (AI) Search. The employees were reinstated with back pay.

A group of six employees who rated Google's AI chatbot were fired on May 31 for complaining about working conditions, according to a tweet by the Alphabet workers' union (via The Verge ).

According to a report by The Washington Post earlier this month, chatbot trainers were allegedly fired for speaking out about low pay and unreasonable deadlines, which they believe prevented them from doing their jobs properly and ensuring the bots were not harmed.
They filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board that Appen, which provides tens of thousands of contract workers to big tech firms, illegally fired them. The workers said they had been fighting for better pay and working conditions for nearly a year.

The Alphabet Workers Union says the workers' jobs have now been restored with back pay. The advocacy group provided the worker agency with a copy of an email from Appen's RaterLabs explaining the decision:
"Based on our continuing consideration and review of our business needs, we have determined that some recent reductions of our workforce were not necessary and can be reversed," said a letter by advocacy group the Worker Agency provided to The Verge.

"Consequently, we are pleased to offer you the option to return to work with RaterLabs," added the letter.

Bard 'a pathological liar' :
Earlier reports said employees had complained that Bard had previously called him a "pathological liar" and that Testers had asked him not to start the company.

Testers also flagged the chatbot as unreliable as it was sending back inaccurate and dangerous information. A second employee called Bard's responses "disregardable."
