2nd October 2022, the nation is celebrating the 118th birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, the man who instilled this sense of duty towards the country with his great words.
 
“Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”, this slogan continues to reverberate in every Indian’s mind, it was said long before but still pumps up enthusiasm among the soldiers and cheers farmers to do their best. 
 
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid their tributes to India’s second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at Vijay Ghat. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the former PM, PM Narendra Modi shared some glimpses from his gallery in the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya in Delhi.
 
Early Life : He was born in the year 1904, at Mughalsarai, a small railway town seven miles from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, and received schooling in a small town that was not very remarkable. However, as he grew up, he eventually became more interested in the country’s struggle for freedom.
 
Lal Bahadur Shastri was only eleven years old at the time when the very idea to contribute to the national stage had already propelled him. When Mahatma Gandhi urged his countrymen to join the Non-Cooperation Movement, Shastri Ji was sixteen years old. In response to the Mahatma’s call, he made the decision right away to put a pause to his studies.
