Safer Internet Day 2023 History : The World Wide Web was first introduced in the year 1990 by computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee.

* Global communication through the internet linked thousands of individuals together. Safer Internet Day was an initiative led by the EU SafeBorders project in 2004.

* Later in the year 2009, Safer Internet Day was introduced to strengthen bonds with countries. At a global level, 150 SID committees are working together with the safer Internet Coordination Team located at the European Union in Brussels.

Safer Internet Day 2023 Significance : The day plays a significant role as it saves users from online harm and risks. There are a lot of websites used by millions of users daily. A safe internet connection will avoid website vandalism. It is required to stay updated with the latest version of the internet.

Safer Internet Day 2023 Theme : This year's theme for Safer Internet Day is "Together for a better internet". It focuses on all stakeholders joining together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, mainly for children and young people.
