Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn is collaborating with Nvidia to build artificial intelligence (AI) data centers using the latter’s software and chips.

These applications include the digitalization of manufacturing and inspection processes, the creation of AI-powered electric vehicle and robotics platforms, and the expansion of language-based generative AI services.
Young Liu, Chairman and CEO of Foxconn, underlined the collaborative nature of this initiative, explaining that they will jointly establish these facilities with Nvidia, propelling the industry into a new AI era at an accelerated rate.

According to Nvidia's CEO, Huang, a novel form of manufacturing is emerging, characterized by the creation of intelligence, with data centers transforming into AI production facilities.
Foxconn's extensive manufacturing expertise and global reach position them as an excellent partner for the global establishment of AI factories, thus expanding their decade-long partnership.

This joint venture will encompass the creation of multiple systems utilizing Nvidia's CPUs, GPUs, and networking technologies, serving Foxconn's diverse international client base.
These systems will be optimised using Nvidia's AI Enterprise software, allowing Foxconn to accomplish AI training and inference, expedite industrial processes, and conduct simulations in virtual settings prior to actual deployment.

Such simulations allow Foxconn to improve its robotics and automation pipeline from start to finish, resulting in improved operational efficiency and cost savings.
Foxconn's collaboration with Nvidia also includes the development of intelligent electric vehicle platforms for the global automotive sector.

With the incorporation of Nvidia DRIVE solutions, Foxconn is poised to bring its EV vision to life, serving as a contract manufacturer for highly automated and autonomous AI-rich EVs equipped with the upcoming Nvidia DRIVE Hyperion 9 platform, including DRIVE Thor and a cutting-edge sensor architecture.
