Indian leg-spinner Rahul Sharma on Sunday(28th Aug 2022) announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
“Today, the day has come, I Rahul Sharma hereby announce my retirement from international and first class cricket” said the 35-year old in a statement.
Sharma has represented India in four ODIs and two T20Is. “It’s fortunate & lucky to have shared the dressing room with the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Virendra Sehwag and MS Dhoni” he added.
Sharma made his Indian Premier League debut with
Deccan Chargers (now Sunrisers Hyderabad) in 2010, then represented the now defunct
Pune Warriors in 2013 before moving on to play for
Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2014. He played a total of 44 matches in the IPL with 40 wickets towards his name..
