Munjpara Mahendrabhai Kalubhai, Minister of State for Ayush and Minister of State for Women and Child Development, published a book titled “Science behind Surya Namaskar” that compiles research studies on one of the most popular yoga poses at the All India Institute of Ayurveda(AIIA). On this occasion, the director of the AIIA,Tanuja Manoj, as well as the deans of the Institute and faculty, were also present.

 

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme 2022 was held at the Institute from August 22–27, 2022, and the Minister was invited as the Chief Guest to thank the organizers. Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), New Delhi, along with the departments of Swasthavritta, Panchakarma, and Dravyaguna, organized the event.

 

The AIIA’s Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga has prepared the book “Science behind Surya Namaskar.” Mahendrabhai praised the Institute’s professors and researchers during the book’s launch for their dedication and efforts to draw attention to the scientific foundation of Indian traditions and practices.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be commissioning the indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on Friday(2nd Sep 2022) at Kochi. Built at the Cochin Shipyard, it was designed by the Indian Navy's in-house Warship Design Bureau. Prime Minister will also unveil the new Naval Ensign (Nishaan) during the event.

According to a release, Vikrant has been built with state-of-the-art automation features and is the largest ship ever built in the maritime history of India. The indigenous aircraft carrier is named after her illustrious predecessor, India’s first aircraft carrier which had played a vital role in the 1971 war.

 

It has a large number of indigenous equipment and machinery, involving major industrial houses in the country as well as over 100 MSMEs. With the commissioning of Vikrant, India will have two operational aircraft carriers, which will bolster the maritime security of the nation, the release said.

 

After successful sea trials, the Cochin Shipyard handed over her to the Indian Navy on July 28. Built at Rs 20,000 crore, it is 262 metres long and 62 metres wide, and displaces 45,000 tonnes. Inside the ship, it has 15 decks, a multi-speciality hospital, a pool, a kitchen and exclusive cabins for women. And, of course, the ship has technology for carrying, arming and recovering fighter aircraft. 

 

Vikrant has 2,300 compartments, and 2,400km of cables have gone into its making. It has eight gigantic power generators and can generate four lakh litres of water every day. 76 per cent of its constituents are indigenous. Vikrant is powered by four gas turbines totalling 88 megawatt power..

India will get its indigenous vaccine for cervical cancer on Thursday(1st Sep 2022). The vaccine is expected to make treatment easier for the patients. The vaccine will be launched by the Serum Institute of India (SII) and the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India on 1 September 2022.

 

The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) had given market authorization for the vaccine on 12 July 2022.   

 

* This is India's first Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus vaccine (qHPV) against cervical cancer.

 

* This vaccine will be manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII)..

The National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) on Thursday(25th Aug 2022) said it has signed an agreement with ICICI Bank for the development of financial accounting software and mobile application.

 

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) provides for the development of financial accounting software for NMDFC and State Channelizing Agencies (SCAs), loan accounting software for receiving and processing of loan applications and accounting of repayments from beneficiaries.

 

ICICI Bank will design, develop and deploy the application for NMDFC, provide source code and executable database information among others, an official statement said.

 

The customised banking software will bring greater transparency and speed of transactions in the loaning and accounting process of NMDFC as well as SCAs.

 

This will also facilitate submission of online applications by the targeted beneficiaries. Automation of activities of NMDFC by developing the software and mobile app would be a giant step forward by NMDFC towards accomplishing its mission of "Development with Dignity", it said..

Amlan Borgohain became India’s fastest sprinter by running 100 metres in 10.25 seconds at the All India Inter Railways Athletics Championships in Raebareli on Monday (August 29, 2022). The 24-year-old surpassed the timing of Amiya Mallick, who had set the 100-metre race national record in 2016 by clocking 10.26 seconds.

 

The Northeast Frontier Railways tweeted and informed about the accomplishment of Amlan in the 87th AIR Athletics Championship. After all the paperwork is completed, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) would need to ratify the latest 100m record from the Railways competition.
