The book features the story of Capt. Anuj Nayyar (23 years old), who martyred during the 1999 Kargil War while fighting to secure the Drass sector which was critical to the success of Operation Vijay and India’s victory in Kargil. Captain Anuj Nayyar was honoured with the Maha Vir Chakra (posthumously), the second-highest gallantry award in 2000.

India has contributed $72,124, more than double of last year, to UNESCO fund for elimination of doping in sports.
 
"The Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has released an enhanced contribution of India to UNESCO Fund for Elimination of Doping in Sport to twice the assessed value i.e. $72,124 in 2022" a PIB release said.
 
"First time in 2021, Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports made contribution of $28,172 towards the UNESCO Fund on the basis of request received from UNESCO.
 
"This contribution, doubling the amount of the minimum 1% contribution, will be included in the certified financial statement of the Fund, which will be presented to COP9, States Parties' contributions support the implementation of the Fund's Operational Strategy 2020-2025."

Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) have signed an agreement related to the possible conversion of commercial aircraft into tankers in India.
 
The memorandum of understanding comes under the auspices of prime minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ policy to increase indigenous production capabilities, says HAL.
 
“Under the pact signed recently, HAL will convert pre-owned Civil (Passenger) aircraft into air refuelling aircraft with cargo and transport capabilities,” it says.
 
“The move will provide India’s defence ecosystem with new capabilities and cost effective solutions in the market.”
 
The Multi-Mission Tanker Transport (MMTT) agreement was signed in Delhi by representatives of HAL and IAI.
 
“We are proud to come together with our counterparts to bring our best value MMTT solution in India, while utilising local resources to manufacture and market the platform,” says IAI president and chief executive Boaz Levy.
 
“By collaborating with HAL and bringing conversion directly to India, we are supporting the ‘Make in India’ campaign”.
 
HAL did not state the type of aircraft that would undergo conversion, but previously IAI has proposed converting Boeing 767s for Indian tanker requirements..

Instituted in 1991, Saraswati Samman is one of the most prestigious literary awards in the country. It is given every year to an outstanding literary work written in any Indian language by an Indian citizen and published within the last 10 years. It carries a citation, a plaque, and a cash prize of ₹15 lakhs. The recipient is chosen by a selection committee, whose current head is Dr Subhash C Kashyap, former secretary-general of the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
 
Born in Dumri village in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur district on August 15, 1924, Mishra has excelled in different branches of Hindi literature. In a career spanning decades, the 98-year-old has to his credit 32 collections of poems, 15 novels, 30 short-story collections, 15 books of literary criticism, four collections of essays, travelogues, and several memoirs. He has also served as an important member of different Hindi consultative committees in various ministries and retired as a professor from the Hindi department of the University of Delhi..
