Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC), a leading Kerala Government-owned Financial Institution, has enhanced the upper loan limit under the CM's Entrepreneurship Development Programme (CMEDP) to Rs 2 crore based on an order issued by the State Government as per the declaration made by Finance Minister while presenting the Budget 2022-23.
 
Now the Micro, Small and Medium Sector enterprises of the State will get loans at five per cent interest rate, a statement said.
 
The Government of Kerala will provide a subsidy of three per cent with the Corporation chipping in with two per cent to make the effective interest five. 
 
The Corporation has so far assisted a total of 2122 units under the scheme and the target is to lend 2,500 enterprises in five years at the rate of 500 enterprises every year, for which the Corporation will set aside Rs 500 crore every year.
 
The age limit for SC/ ST entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs and non-resident Keralites is 55 years. Loans are available for starting new ventures and modernising existing ones.
 
The loan will be made available up to 90 per cent of the project cost. Large projects will get even higher disbursements, in which cases, loans up to Rs 2 crore will be sanctioned at the rate of five per cent and the balance at normal interest rates.
 
KFC also declared business campaign with 50% waiver in processing fee for new MSME loans and 0.25% interest discount for top rated clients as part of International MSME day celebrations.

Ace sprinter Sekar Dhanalakshmi ran her personal best time to win 200m gold at the Qosanov Memorial Athletics Meet while the likes of shot putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor and javelin thrower Rohit Yadav returned to India without competing in the event here on Sunday(27th June 2022).
 
Dhanalakshmi ran a creditable sub-23 second, clocking 22.89s to better her earlier personal best of 23.14s she had come up last year.
 
She had won a 200m gold in the national Inter-Sate Championships in Chennai earlier this month with a time of 23.27s.
 
She missed the automatic qualification mark of 22.80s for World Championships (July 15 to 24) in Oregon, USA, but will have to see if she can make it to the showpiece through world ranking quota.
 
The World Championships qualification deadline ends on Sunday midnight.
 
Dhanalakshmi is only the third Indian woman to run sub-23s after national record holder Saraswati Saha (22.82s) and Hima Das (22.88s).

Indian women’s discus thrower Navjeet Dhillon clinched the gold medal at the Qosanov Memorial 2022 athletics meet, on Saturday(25th June 2022).
 
Navjeet, who is looking to seal her place in the Indian team for Commonwealth Games, won the women’s discus throw with a 56.24m effort. Local athlete Karina Vasilyeva (44.61m) and Uzbekistan’s Yulianna Shchukina (40.48m) followed Navjeet Dhillon on the podium.
 
A Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Navjeet has been provisionally named in India’s athletics squad for the Birmingham 2022 Games. However, she will have to produce good results in competitions ahead of the quadrennial event to confirm her CWG spot, according to the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).
 
Overall, India won 14 medals on the day, including seven golds, an olympics.com report said.
 
Tajinderpal Singh Toor, a national record holder in men’s shot put, will have to produce good results in his event on Sunday to seal his place in the Commonwealth Games. Tokyo Olympian Dhanalakshmi Sekar will also be among the top Indian athletes competing on Sunday at the Qosanov Memorial 2022 athletics, which is a World Athletics bronze-level event..

The Indian Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) has started authorising Indian private firms, marking the beginning of private space sector launches in India. IN-SPACe is an autonomous, single window nodal agency; formed to promote, authorise, monitor and supervise the space activities of Non-Governmental Private Entities (NGPEs) in India.
 
Dhruva Space Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad and Digantara research & Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru, were authorised by IN-SPACe on June 24 to launch their payloads.
 
Dhruva Space's Dhruva Space Satellite Orbital Deployer - (DSOD 1U), a technology demonstration payload, and Digantara's ROBust Integrating Proton Fluence Meter (ROBI), a Proton dosimeter payload, were authorised, an IN-SPACe statement said on Monday(27th June 2022). 
 
The payloads would fly onboard PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM) of PSLV-C53 scheduled to be launched on June 30, 2022. .
