The Fifth Khelo India Youth Games -2022 will be held in Madhya Pradesh. The games will be held from 31st January to 11th February 2023.
 
This was announced by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur at an event in New Delhi in presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
 
Talking to reporters after the event, Mr Thakur said, the Khelo India Youth Games will be held at eight locations. He said, more than 8 thousand 500 athletes and sportspersons are expected to participate in the sporting event.
 
Mr Thakur said, Khelo India Youth Games was stared in 2016 and provided a very effective platform to the youth of the country to showcase their performance and talents in sports.
 
Mr Thakur said that Madhya Pradesh is now showing its excellence in every sector and State Chief Minister has improved the infrastructure of sports and built up a big infrastructure of shooting and water sports.
 
Speaking to reporters Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur for providing the opportunity to organise the Khelo India Youth Games in his State.
 
Mr Chouhan assured that the State government will leave no stone unturned in organising the event in most spectacular way. He said, the games will be held at different places of the State including at Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain and Jabalpur.
 
On the occasion, Madhya Pradesh Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Yashodhara Raje Scindia and Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nisith Pramanik were also present.
 
The upcoming edition of the Khelo India Youth Games will feature a total of 27 disciplines.  Water sports being included for the first time in the history of the games..

The government on Monday(26th Dec 2022) appointed senior bureaucrat Santosh Kumar Yadav as the Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
 
In an order, the Department of personnel & Training (DoPT) said, “Yadav, a 1995-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed as NHAI Chairman.”
 
Yadav is currently holding the post of Additional Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education.
 
In the same order, the DoPT said, “Subhasish Panda, a 1997-batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Vice-Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).”  
 
Ganji Kamala V Rao has been named as Chief Executive Officer, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
 
Rao, a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, is currently holding the post of the Managing Director of the India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.
 
Hitesh Kumar S Makwana has been named as Additional Secretary in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
 
Rajneesh, a 1997-batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, will be Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the order said..

NTPC, India's largest power generation company, has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tecnimont Private Limited, Indian Subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont Group, Italy.

The objective of the MOU is to jointly evaluate and explore the possibility to develop commercial scale Green Methanol Production facility at NTPC project in India.

The Green Methanol Project involves capturing carbon from NTPC power plants and converting it into a green fuel. Green Methanol has a wide range of applications, including serving as a base material for the chemical industry, storing renewable electricity, and even as a transportation fuel. It is also considered as a substitute fuel for maritime fuel applications.

The Bulandshahr prison of Uttar Pradesh was awarded a five-star rating and the tag 'Eat Right Campus' by the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI), informed a press release.
 
The FSSAI team inspected the kitchen's food quality, storage and hygiene on stringent measures, based on which the Bulandshahr prison was given a five-star rating, the 'Eat Right Campus' tag in addition to the remark of 'Excellent' by the FSSAI.
 
As per the release, the jail officers and the prisoners worked extensively for beautification, cleanliness and food safety. The staff also used clean aprons, full-sleeve gloves and caps for preparing food.
 
Bulandshahr Jail is the second prison after Farrukhabad jail to get this tag from Uttar Pradesh.
 
The Director General of the prison, Anand Kumar, directed the staff to continuously work towards maintaining the hygiene, quality and cleanliness while preparing food..

Drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace has received the Type Certification and RPTO (Remote Pilot Training Organisation) approvals from the Director General of Civil Aviation for the indigenously designed kisan drones, the company said on Sunday(25th Dec 2022).
 
DGCA Type certification is provided on the basis of the quality check and is issued after a rigorous testing process of the unmanned aerial vehicles.
 
The kisan drones are developed for agricultural purposes and with the Type Certification received for the GA-AG model, Garuda Kisan drones were eligible for Rs 10 lakh unsecured loans from the agri-infrastructure fund offered by the Centre, the company said in a statement.
 
According to DGCA, a remote pilot training organisation is an organisation authorised by the DGCA to impart remote pilot training to any individual seeking for a remote pilot certificate under Rule 34 of Drone Rules 2021.
 
"The elusive double certification by DGCA for Type and RPTO certification is a testament to our indigenous Made in India drone manufacturing capacities.We are powered and blessed with strong demands of manufacturing 5,000 drones in the next five months," Garuda Aerospace founder Agnishwar Jayaprakash said..
