He was appointed to this post after he retired from service as the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in Pune.

The Republic Day parade 2022 will have 16 marching contingents, 17 military bands and 25 tableaux of various states, departments and armed forces, the Indian Army said in a statement on Saturday(22nd Jan 2022).

Notably, all the poll-bound states- PunjabManipurGoaUttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh - will have their tableaux this year.
 
The Army will be represented by a mounted column of cavalry, 14 mechanised columns, six marching contingents and a flypast by advanced light helicopters of its aviation wing at the Republic Day parade-2022 (RDP-2022), it said.
 
The mechanised columns of the Army will show one PT-76 tank, one Centurion tank, two MBT Arjun MK-I tanks, one APC TOPAS armoured personnel carriers, one BMP-I infantry fighting vehicle and two BMP-II infantry fighting vehicles, it stated.

The Karnataka state government on Thursday(20th Jan 2022) launched a centre of excellence for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming & Comics (AVGC), positioning it as a pioneering high technology digital media hub.   
 
The AVGC centre located in Mahadevapura is an initiative of Innovate Karnataka, a state-funded programme, IT/BT Minister "C N Ashwath Narayan" said.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has announced that the government has approved an equity infusion of ₹10 billion (~$ 134.11 million) in Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI). The capital would facilitate the addition of 3.3 GW of renewable energy projects and enable SECI to announce several other innovative tenders for project development.
 
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is working towards achieving the target set by the Government of India to install 175 GW (excluding large hydro) of renewable energy capacity by 2022 and further increase it to 450 GW by 2030.
 
This equity infusion announcement comes in the heels of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, approving  the equity infusion of ₹15 billion (~$201.27 million) in the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA). The additional equity infusion will help IREDA lend ₹120 billion (~$1.61 billion) to the renewable energy sector, thus facilitating the debt requirement for an additional capacity of approximately 3,500 – 4,000 MW..
