Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India's biggest Drone Festival-Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022 at 10 AM on 27th May 2022 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
 
The Prime Minister will interact with Kisan drone pilots. He will witness open-air drone demonstrations and interact with startups in the drone exhibition centre.
 
During this two-day Bharat Drone Mahotsav, over 1600 delegates will participate.
 
Several industry leaders, government officials, foreign diplomats, representatives from Public Sector Units, private companies and drone startups will participate in the Mahotsav and deliberate upon India’s Civil Aviation sector.
 
More than 70 exhibitors will display drones at the exhibition. Mahotsav will also witness virtual awards presentation ceremony of drone pilot certificates, product launches, flying demonstrations, display of a Made in India Drone Taxi prototype among others..

After a gap of 10 years, an Indian government officer -- Anwar Hussain Shaik -- has been made the chair of the World Trade Organisation(WTO's) committee on Technical Barriers on Trade, an official said. He will take this role from Elisa Maria Olmeda de Alejandro from Mexico. "Our officer posted in PMI (Permanent Mission of India) Geneva has been made the chair of this TBT committee. Last time an Indian was a chair was10 years back," the official said. The Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Agreement aims to ensure that technical regulations, standards and conformity assessment procedures are non-discriminatory and do not create unnecessary obstacles to trade.

Commercial utilisation of drones to bring quality healthcare to Indians in the remotest areas seems to be a reality now. Redcliffe Labs, a unit of Redcliffe Lifetech in the U.S., has come up with its first commercial drone flight in the country’s healthcare sector. The company has recently opened its commercial drone corridor between Uttarkashi and Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
 
Dheeraj Jain, Founder, Redcliffe Labs informed that Uttarkashi to Dehradun by road is 144 km, 6-8 hours by road and 12 hours during a landslide. “But using drone technology this distance was covered in 88 minutes with one battery swap in between," he said.
 
The project was a part of Redcliffe and Skye Air tie-up and in the past three months they have done 40 successful trials in North India.
 
Redcliffe Lab, delivered 5 kilograms payload in temperature-controlled boxes from Gyansu, Uttarkashi to Vivek Vihar, Dehradun, which is 60 kilometres aerial distance.
 
The company said it “will be operating two flights daily for both routine and specialized tests sample collection from June 10, 2022.
