President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday(10th Sep 2022) nominated "Gulam Ali", a Gurjar Muslim from Jammu and Kashmir, to the Rajya Sabha on the advice of the Central government.
 
A notification by Union Home Ministry said the President is happy to nominate Gulam Ali to the Council of States to fill the vacancy due to the retirement of one of the nominated members.
 
BJP's IT Cell head Amit Malviya praised the decision on Twitter calling it a "significant step" as it recognised the Gurjar minority living in the Valley.

The day also marks the birthday of Beohar Rajendra Simha, who was an acclaimed Indian scholar. Simha is known for the illustrations in the original final manuscript of the Constitution of India.

It was on his 50th birthday that the Hindi language got adopted in official terms. It was the late Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who decided to celebrate September 14 as Hindi Diwas.

Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways plans to build a National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at the site of the Indus Valley civilisation in Lothal, Gujarat.
 
A first of its kind complex in India, this centre will showcase India’s rich and diverse maritime heritage. The foundation stone for the NMHC project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the consent for the master plan was given in March 2019.
 
The project is planned to be completed in different phases. In phase 1A, a museum will be built with 5 galleries and a naval gallery on 35 acres of land at an investment of ₹774.23 crore.

In the phase 1B, remaining portions of the museum will be built, including galleries, light house, 5D dome theatre, Bagicha Complex and other infrastructure. This phase is proposed to be developed under EPC mode.
 
Union Minister MoPSW and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal, said, “It is one of the major project under Sagarmala scheme of MoPSW which has an edutainment approach. By using the latest technology maritime heritage will be projected in a user friendly manner to spread awareness among people. Total cost of the NMHC project including EPC and PPP mode is ₹3,500 Crores. The commissioning of NMHC Phase 1A is targeted to be completed by March 2024."
 
The Gujarat government is playing a vital role in this project. It is supporting the project by developing external infrastructure namely; by 4 laning of 11.58 km of road from SH1 to NMHC site via Gundi-Lothal-Saragwala village, by providing water supply connection to the site and by giving 66 kV power supply at NMHC..

Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati of the Dwarka’s Sharda Peeth monastery passed away on Sunday(11th September 2022), in Chhattisgarh’s Narsinghpur district after suffering a heart attack. He was 99. Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati had been unwell for a long time.
 
According to Swami Swaroopanand’s disciplines, his body will be laid to rest on Monday(12th Sep 2022) afternoon at the Paramahamsi Ganga hermitage in Chhattisgarh’s Narsinghpur.
 
Swami Swaroopanand was born in Dighori village in Madhya Pradesh’s Siwani district. He left his home at the age of 9. Later, he went to Kashi in Uttar Pradesh, where he gained spiritual enlightenment and religious wisdom from Swami Karpatri Maharaj.
 
Swami Shankracharya was also imprisoned during the Indian Independence movement. He also participated in the Quit India movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942 and was incarcerated in Varanasi for nine months and in Madhya Pradesh for six months.
 
He was one of the prominent figures in the legal battle for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya..

The 4th Cyber Crime Investigation and Intelligence Summit-2022 is being organised by the Madhya Pradesh Police to improve the knowledge and abilities of police sub-inspectors and senior investigating officers in order to effectively prevent cybercrimes.
