World Usability Day is observed annually on the second Thursday of November. It's also referred to as Make Things Easier Day and is being celebrated today, November 10, 2022.

World Usability Day is a one-day observance that aims at uniting communities of professional, industrial, educational, citizen, and governmental organisations for the shared goal of making sure that life's essential services and goods are easy to find and use.

Usability is a quality factor that evaluates a person's ability to utilise a product successfully and efficiently as well as how satisfied they are with the process.

The day promotes the principles of universal usability, usability engineering, user-centered design, and the responsibility of every user to demand better products.

The creation of user experience has been influenced by many people, not just engineers. Walt Disney is regarded as one of the earliest user experience designers. Disney dreamed of a world where advanced technology can be used to enhance people's lives. He was obsessed with creating enchanting, deep, nearly perfect user experiences.

Furthermore, Apple has also been a true pioneer in the user experience field from the release of the first iPod in 2001 through the iPhone in 2007.

World Usability Day History :  World Usability Day was established in 2005 by the Usability Professionals Association. The association was established in 1991 with 50 members and has since expanded to approximately 2,400 professionals worldwide.

These experts, stationed in different parts of the world, promote user experience (UX) concepts and approaches through annual international conferences, the 'Journal of Usability Studies' (JUS), and the 'User Experience Magazine'.

The foundational ideas of user experience can be traced back to Ancient Greece. According to National Today, there is evidence that Greek civilizations began utilising appropriate equipment in the construction of their tools and workplaces in the fifth century BC. Another significant player in the history of user experience design is Henry Dreyfuss, an American industrial engineer who wrote "Designing for People" in 1955, which essentially summarises user experience design.

World Usability Day2022 Theme : The theme for World Usability Day 2022 is 'Our Health'. The theme is intended to inspire individuals to study current and significant issues like the continuity of care, accessibility to treatment, telemedicine, systems for mental health, exercise, nutrition, and many more.

World Usability Day Significance : Celebration and education are the two main focuses of World Usability Day. It acknowledges the progress that has been made in designing usable goods and spreading awareness of how usability affects our daily lives. The focus of the day is improving how the world functions. The yearly celebration aims to engage the general public and propagate the usability message..
